Camber Sands
Where are we?

We are based in Rye Harbour right opposite Camber Sands and only one and a half hours from London by car. We operate our kitesurfing courses from the 4-mile stretch of sandy beach at Camber Sands and can sail in all wind directions. We were the first local kitesurfing operation to teach from support boats (RIB).
Why Kitesurf at Camber Sands?
Safe and easy – a long tidal reach creates 100′s of metres of waste deep water, this makes it perfect for safe learning and risk-free trick progression.
Below are a few more good reasons why Kites on Board operate from this beach!
Tidal pools – At certain tidal states the sand bars create pools of pure flat water.
Space – There is plenty of room at Camber so we avoid the overcrowding suffered at many spots such as Poole, Brighton and Weymouth.
Sandy beach – Launching, landing and practicing is a lot more reassuring to do with sand between your toes.
Kite Zone at Camber Sands – Jury’s Gap car park, just beyond Camber to the east – parking is free and kiting allowed year round. Please note that this zone is the only area the council allow us to use for kitesurfing. The only exception is between Nov and April you can kitesurf further up the beach but you must still launch and land at The eastern end of the beach.
Around Rye
Rye is a deeply historic town set in some stunning scenery and is a lovely place to stay and if you want to make a weekend of it. If you’re feeling fancy it’s got art galleries, spas, retreats, posh hotels, luxury cottages and a decent gastro scene. If you’re feeling normal then there are pubs, camping, B&Bs, fish and chip shops and even a night club.
For more info on Rye and the surrounding area check out Rye Sussex or give us a call, we’re more than happy to give you the lowdown. We are also on friendly terms with many local businesses, so if you are doing lessons with us, it is always worth calling us first to see if there aren’t any special offers running or if you want advice on where to eat and drink etc.
